Most weighted blankets are constructed with thin shells that are easily prone to tearing, pilling and wearing down. This blanket's construction uses a material commonly used in construction applications that is then treated to provide a comfortable texture and feel. In addition to this unique shell, the rest of this blanket is entirely comprised of 100% cotton batting and lead-free micro glass beads, all of which can handle years of use. All three of these combined create a very robust product that can be subjected to treatment well beyond what the average weighted blanket can handle.

Many weighted blankets on the market contain unhealthy materials. Rest assured, our blanket is nontoxic, free of plastics and chemicals, making for a safer sleep.

Due to its robust (imperturbable 😉) construction, this product can readily be washed and reused at will. For individuals, this means not worrying about it. For parents, this means letting your child use this blanket as they intrinsically are drawn to. Clinics and hospitals, this means a quick turnaround between clientele, the ability to sanitize it, the ability to use it for 'messier' patients and decreased replacement costs.

As it is very washable and quite tough, this blanket is not limited to the indoors. Given its weight, this blanket doubles as a wonderful picnic or beach blanket as it won't be blown by the wind and is more prone to staying in place.

Weighted blankets are great yet, there are a few considerations:

Do not use this weighted blanket on children under 10 years of age and/or individuals who weigh less than 100lbs without consulting with the their healthcare provider. Weighted blankets should not be used above the shoulders and should not cover the head. Weighted blankets should not be used to restrain a person or restrict their movement and should not be used by anyone who cannot readily put it on or take it off of themselves. Those with general weakness, respiratory illnesses, high blood pressure, breathing difficulties or diabetes should consult with their healthcare provider before using a weighted blanket. It is not advised to use this weighted blanket on pets. The weight of the blanket should be correlated to the person's size.

We mean it, just wash as desired on any heat. Front-load washers are preferable but not required. We recommend you ensure your washer is designed to handle the weight of the blanket. This blanket can be dry cleaned.

All forms of drying methods are efficacious. We recommend a mechanical dryer however, line-drying is also effective. Any heat cycle will work though, obviously, the hotter the setting the quicker it will dry.

Bleach, vinegar, fabric softener, stain removers and other common washing and drying products are all acceptable to use on this blanket.
